My journey at Cardiff Marina began on 24th March 2020 – the very first day of the UK lockdown. Like many people, I watched Boris Johnson’s announcement on 23rd March and honestly thought I would receive a message saying that my new role was no longer needed. Thankfully, that message never came.
 
I still remember cycling into the marina on that beautiful spring morning, unsure of what the future would hold. I joined Cardiff Marina as Marina Administrator and, over the past six years, have had the privilege of learning every aspect of marina life while building wonderful relationships with berth holders, customers, contractors and colleagues along the way.
 
Before joining Cardiff Marina, my career took me through a variety of roles that helped shape the person and leader I am today. These included working in the Bereavement Office for the NHS, serving as Wales Development Administrator for the National Autistic Society, running my own business, Domestic Goddess Cleaning Services, and working as General Manager for TEC Marina Serviced Offices.
 
This year is particularly special for me personally as my husband, Michael, and I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We are incredibly proud of our daughter, Jade, who is now 27 years old. And I couldn’t finish without mentioning Arnie, our 10-year-old black Labrador, who has become something of an honorary member of the Cardiff Marina team over the years, regularly popping into the office for cwtches, treats and plenty of fuss.
 
As I step into this new role, I am excited about the future of Cardiff Marina. My vision is to build on the marina’s strengths and develop it into a thriving community hub. I want Cardiff Marina to be a place where berth holders, businesses, visitors and staff feel connected, valued and involved in shaping its future. Together, we can create an even more welcoming, vibrant and successful marina that reflects the passion, pride and spirit of everyone who is part of our community.
 
I look forward to working alongside our marina community and embarking on this exciting new chapter together.
