Watchet Summertime 2025: A Festival Weekend at Watchet Marina

Watchet Marina was the heart of the celebrations last weekend as the town came together to enjoy the annual Watchet Summertime week. With more than 70 visiting boats making the trip to the harbour for the weekend finale, the marina was transformed into a vibrant hub of colour, music, and activity.

A Harbour Full of Life

The sight of so many boats gathered together created a spectacular backdrop for the festival, with visitors and locals alike remarking on the lively atmosphere. Many of the visiting yachts and motorboats were decorated specially for the occasion, adding to the festive spirit. The whole town was buzzing, and the marina played a central role in showcasing the very best of Watchet.

Festival Highlights

Across the weekend, visitors enjoyed a packed programme of events and entertainment. The town’s streets and waterfront hosted:

Lots of fun activities for all the family

A bustling market with local stalls and artisan products
Delicious food and drink options
Live music performances that kept the crowds dancing into the evening
A spectacular fireworks display to close the celebrations in style

The energy and atmosphere created by the combination of boats, music, food, and community spirit made this year’s festival one of the most memorable to date.

The Bristol Channel Yachting Association & Best Dressed Boat Competition

This weekend also celebrated the return of the Bristol Channel Yachting Association (BCYA) rally. One of the highlights of the weekend was the ever-popular Best Dressed Boat competition, jointly organised by the BCYA and the Watchet Boat Owners Association. With so many beautifully decorated vessels taking part, the competition was fierce!

Watchet Sea Scouts were also awarded the BCYA Club/Association of the Year Award during the weekend’s drinks reception.

Looking Ahead

The success of Watchet Summertime 2025 is a credit to the efforts of local organisations, businesses, and volunteers who came together to make it possible. The festival not only showcases Watchet as a welcoming destination but brings together the boating community and local community with visitors arriving by sea or by land.
